About
In my mid-thirties, I discovered the wonders of a regular yoga practice
Being hard working, sporty and competitive I pushed myself doing increasingly difficult and strenuous forms of yoga and I was often injured and tired from overdoing things.
I pushed through every task just to get it done, all this while working as a freelance fashion designer with a busy family life. I was constantly tired, often stressed and I found it hard to wind down, switch off and relax.
Transitioning in my fifties to teaching yoga full time, I changed my style and approach
To a more laid-back, enjoyable and accessible yoga that feels good from the moment you start moving, creating ease in daily activities and providing support through natural aging processes.
With movement that develops joint stability, balance and strength which all need more care and attention with each passing decade.
With therapeutic approaches that ease common aches and pains and supports recovery from injuries and surgeries. I had hip replacement surgery 2 years ago and learned so much during the recovery process
With constructive rest and deep relaxation practices to replenish depleted energy and improve sleep quality.
Yoga is a life-long well-being practice:
If you pay attention to where you are and what you have, you’ll discover a whole range of beneficial practices to support you through the stages of your life
Who I love to work with
If you find that mainstream studios full of bendy bodies don’t appeal to you, I have good news for you, there is so much more to yoga than being flexible.
If you work in a creative industry, run your own business, are enjoying semi retirement (or even full)and like to try new things
If you’re concerned about your elderly parents or your adult children who haven’t flown the nest or you’re sandwiched between the two
If your home renovations are taking forever or work stresses keep you awake at night, despite years of experience
If you value your well-being much more than you used to, want to enjoy yoga, dont take everything too seriously you’re in the right place!
How I can meet you where you are and take you to the next step
I love to support different types of bodies, and we are all built differently and very few of us are human pretzels.
You can expect to be given options throughout a class so that you can explore what works for you, and you’ll be encouraged to do so.
If I look around a class and see everyone doing/expressing the same pose in a different way, that’s evidence of human variability and my expertise in facilitating the best experience for you.

What inspires my yoga practice
Yoga is my life-long passion, bit of a geek, reading and researchingabout movment science, biomechanics, meditation and h=nescience based yoga and wellness.
My own practice is very mixed, and depends on how I’m feeling on the day. There’s always some floor based feel good movement, a flow, sometimes some inversions like headstand, and meditation on most days. If I’m tired, my favourite restorative pose is legs up on a sofa. When I’m feeling energised, it’ll be active, experimental and playful.
