Rest & Replenish Mini Retreat

Saturday 27 Sept 2-5pm

If you’re tired of being tired, discover how to shift from exhausted and depleted to rested and revitalised in this immersive afternoon of restorative yoga and aromatherapy massage.

We’ll explore

  • Nourishing self-care practices to shift your nervous system from an agitated and overactive state to relaxed, calm and re-energised.

  • Acupressure massage with aromatherapy oils while comfortably supported with blankets and bolsters in restorative yoga positions.

  • Cultural attitudes to rest and the science of circadian and ultradian rhythms, so you start to allow yourself to rest between activities, becoming better at managing tiredness.

You’ll experience and learn practices to shift fatigue and exhaustion:

Guided acupressure massage techniques using a re-energising oil from Suzie of Soothe-Me, discovering which essential oils support your body emotionally and energetically through the change from late summer into autumn.

Journalling techniques to reflect and recognise when you’re resisting rest and how to shift your mindset to become more intentional in managing tiredness, exhaustion and burnout.

Gentle somatic movement to help you tap into the tiredness you feel in your body, with easy to do movements and mini rest practices.

Discover how easy it is to allow yourself to rest deeply when you’re comfortably set up with blankets, cushions and bolsters in restorative yoga.

We’ll finish with tea to come back, reflect and chat about your experiences of deep rest and recovery!

An intro to Restorative Yoga & Somatic Movement

Restorative yoga is the use of props to place the body in positions of comfort and ease to promote deep relaxation and wellbeing. Poses are held for 8-25 minutes as the body and mind need time, comfort, quiet, stillness and warmth to drop into a deeply relaxed state.

Restorative yoga takes you from an activated state of your nervous system, into a relaxed, restful state, slowing brain waves down into the sort of patterns we see in deep sleep.

Somatic Movement is about the internal experience of how movement feels rather than the external appearance of poses. It helps you to tune into the sensations of where your body is feeling tension or tiredness.

‘Great afternoon learning simple but clever ways to wind down for sleep. It was good to be reminded to invest in some time before bed to wind down with some yoga and accupressure. Daleen and Suzie really looked after us, thank you for the tips and the tea. And the goodie bag with the gorgeous oil in it’.

Nat

‘What a great mini retreat! Deeply restorative experience and plenty of take home tips to try yourself at home’.

Kathleen

‘The session was a wonderful experience! Suzie (of Soothe -Me) and Daleen both make you feel so cared for. I’ve learnt loads from them both. They gave us so many different tools that I’m looking forward to put into practice. If you struggle with your sleep or stress or want a relaxing experience I highly recommend their workshop
