Join us for this immersive afternoon of restorative yoga and aromatherapy massage, discovering a slower rhythm to thrive through the winter.

We’ll explore

  • Acupressure massage with aromatherapy oils while cocooned in warmth and comfort with blankets and bolsters in restorative yoga positions.

  • Gentle movement to ease stiffness and melt tension from your weary body.

  • Journalling to help you acknowledge tiredness and to reflect on the state of your body, mind and energy in winter.

  • Simple, nourishing self-care practices to gently guide your nervous system into rest and digest mode.

What you might experience, learn and take away

  • How to rest deeply (the kind of rest that seeps into your bones) using props, blankets and bolsters in restorative yoga.

  • Guided acupressure massage with a seasonal aromatherapy oil from Soothe-Me, designed to support emotional and energetic balance as we move from autumn to winter.

  • Gentle somatic movement to tune into your body’s tension and invite ease, fluidity and comfort.

  • Journalling techniques to reflect and recognise how your energy changes in the winter, what emotions may come up at this time of the year and why you may be resisting rest. 

  • The art of guilt-free rest — letting go of the ‘shoulds’ and learning to honour your slower rhythm.

  • A soothing sense of calm as you drift in the liminal zone between sleep and waking.

  • We’ll finish with a cup of tea, and time to chat, reflect and share (optional of course!) what surfaced in your journey towards deep winter rest.

Why we’ve combined Restorative yoga, Somatic Movement and Aromatherapy

  • Restorative yoga uses props to support the body in comfort and ease, so you can drop into deep relaxation. Poses are held for 8–25 minutes, because it takes time to shift into deep rest-digest or parasympathetic mode.

  • Somatic movement is about how movement feels rather than how it looks. It helps you notice tension and find your body’s natural flow and ease again.

  • Paired with seasonal aromatherapy oils, this combination gently engages your senses and signals to your nervous system that it’s safe to soften — easing you into the delicious calm of deep spacious relaxation.

Did an amazing Saturday afternoon restorative retreat with Daleen and Suzie! It was three hours of pure bliss and stillness with lovely aromatherapy. Lots of fantastic restorative poses, and ideas and tips to help relax and support your nervous system and improve your sleep, both through postures and essential oils. And some great massage too!
