Workplace Yoga
Workplaces are in the middle of a stress & fatigue epidemic.
Yoga is an effective way for your business to support your employee’s all-round physical & mental health.
Absenteeism due to stress, anxiety, fatigue and burnout is any business’s worst nightmare costing UK businesses a forecasted £22 billion for the year 2024.
Yoga is such an effective intervention the National Institute of Clinical Excellence recommends all businesses in the UK offer yoga, mindfulness & meditation to their employees or support them with access to these practices.
Stress statistics:
Stress is now the most common cause of long term absence in the workplace with 1 out of 5 employees report feeling ‘very’ or ‘extremely’ stressed at work.
Work related stress, anxiety and depression accounted for 17.9 million lost days, according to The National Health and Safety Executive in 2023.
As workplace mental health issues escalate, mental health is no longer seen as a sidebar, according to a 2024 report by Deloitte.
As an integrated mind-body discipline, slow mindful yoga, (and not sweaty fitness based yoga!), offers the tools for your employees to manage work related mental health issues and physical wellbeing!

The World Health Organisation has called stress the number one health epidemic of the 21st century
How yoga can help your workplace
Yoga is scientifically proven to help manage stress, support musculoskeletal conditions and improve an individual’s sense of wellbeing.
There are a range of different yoga tools incorporated into my workplace yoga and wellbeing programmes:
Breathing practices help employees manage stress with a toolkit to draw from in times of stress, rather than trying to escape it whilst building a healthy, regulated nervous system.
Effectively managed stress builds resilience in each individual’s nervous system, so when stress hits it affects them less and they’re able to cope.
Amplified rest and relaxation practices, are effective for fatigue and burnout, as they restore energy, help employees to become better at relaxing on cue and aid better sleep.
Studies show the efficacy of yoga meditation and mindfulness as a mental health protocol. These practices enable a more neutral mindset, allowing for presence, and open mindedness, instead of ruminating and over analysing. This allows for more clarity, working smarter, not harder, maintaining productivity and sparking creativity.
Gentle yoga movement is an effective way to manage stress related tension, aches and pains that build up through long periods of sitting, helping employees better manage their bodies and find more ease in their working day.
As a group activity away from screen based work, yoga is a great way to develop positive interactions and build better relationships at work.

‘Mindfulness, meditation and yoga were most effective overall in reducing job stress & mental health symptoms & having a positive effect on employee wellbeing’

What people are saying ~
‘Travelling to and from work takes up so much time, so having Daleen in our workspace to teach yoga has been such an effective way around the difficulty of attending regular yoga classes while working long hours.
Daleen is aware of our levels of tiredness or stress and our need to finish the class ready to walk straight back into a busy day. Her classes don’t tire us out and are suited to our mixed abilities and help us maintain a routine which we build on together.
I particularly like how she adjusts her classes to suit the weather or the time of year - a bright sunny spring day has a different energy to a dark wintry one but there’s a consistent energy in the room which prepares us for the day ahead. I can’t imagine not doing this, it’s been a doddle to set up and it’s become an integral part of our working week’.

Research
First up, we take time together to understand the issues specific to your team, culture and business and collaborate on how these can be best addressed.
I’ll take the research and design a programme of yoga using a range of tools, practices and useful resources specially designed for your employee’s needs. This may include shortened format classes and creative use of physical space with classes at desks, on mats, or in a conference room.
We then roll out the programme in the best format for your employees, prioritising accessibility and inclusivity so everyone can get the most from their yoga practice.
